Vigraha Prathistapana - President's Message
It gives me immense pleasure to announce that the Vigraha
Pratistapana Mahakumbabhishekam was a huge success. During
the seven day event, thousands of devotees from all over metro
Atlanta and many devotees from many southern states thronged
the temple in spite of incessant rains and cold weather. On
Saturday, over four thousand devotees participated in Shikara
Yantra Stapana and Sainatha Yantra Stapana. Sunday, devotees
gathered at the temple as early as 4:30am so that they can
partake in the festivities at the crack of dawn. They waited
patiently for hours together in long lines so they can have
a glimpse of Baba. I want to thank you for your cooperation
and moving quickly in the lines so others behind got an opportunity
to have Baba darshan even though it meant you did not get
to fully participate in the Aarthi. For those of you who could
not make it to the event, please click on News section at
http://www.atlantasaitemple.org/nassta-news.html.
I want to thank the executive committee, committee coordinators
and members for working together to make this event such a
huge success. I want to thank priest Sri Suresh and priest
Sri Ravi for their hard work and dedication evident throughout
this event. I want to thank priest Sri Gopal Bhattar of Hindu
Temple of Atlanta for architecting and leading and visiting
priests for conducting the religious ceremonies.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to hundreds of volunteers
for their hard work especially in the areas of pooja services,
food arrangements, offsite parking, ground facilities, fundraising
and queue maintenance to name a few. I was repeatedly congratulated
by the devotees for volunteers professionalism, courtesy
and thoughtfulness. I want to congratulate each and every
member of the volunteer community for such an outstanding
job.
While we tried our best to honor everyones needs and
wishes, I request your forgiveness for any mistakes that might
have been committed, knowingly or unknowingly.
I want to acknowledge, while the opening was a major milestone
for the temple, there is lot of work still to be done. Following
are few that I can name:
- Bring to closure last few outstanding construction
items
- Create and follow a robust operational plan,
sound fiscal plan and organizational discipline to support
the much larger institution
- Raise funds to payoff mortgage balance as
soon as possible and make the temple a financially self
sustaining entity
- Plan and arrange/construct better living
quarters for our priests
- Make temple, not only a place of worship,
but also a vehicle for community service and institute for
spiritual education
Finally, I want to thank you all once again for your support
over the years for the temple.
May Sais blessings be with us all.
